Threat of Shooting Found in Middle School Bathroom Meant as Prank, Student Tells Frisco Authorities

Frisco police are investigating after a student left graffiti in a school bathroom suggesting a shooting Friday in hopes of getting out of class.The Griffin Middle School student told authorities the message was a prank so the student could get out of school on the last day before the holiday break, according to Frisco police spokesman Radd Rotello. Security was increased at the campus Friday as a precaution, Rotello said. Police are investigating possible criminal charges. No arrests have been made.In an email to Griffin parents Thursday, principal Elizabeth Holcomb said the student was identified and appropriate action was taken."Additionally, both police and security will be on campus throughout the day tomorrow [Friday] to ensure the needs of our students staff are being met," she wrote.
