Texas Woman Overcomes Long Odds to Win $1.2 Million on Kentucky Derby Bet

An Austin woman turned $18 into more than $1.2 million by betting on the Kentucky Derby Saturday, according to ABC News.She won the money at by placing a Pick 5 bet at Retama Park in Selma, northeast of San Antonio. To win, she had to select the winners of five consecutive races. And the woman did exactly that, picking Limousine Liberal (4-1 odds) to win the eighth race of the day at Churchill Downs in Kentucky, Maraud (8-1) to win the ninth, Funny Duck (40-1) to win the 10th, Yoshida (10-1) to win the 11th and Kentucky Derby favorite Justify (3-1) to win the main event."To bet that little amount of money and win $1.2 million is unheard of," Retama Park spokeswoman Rachel Bagnetto told ABC News.
