East Oak Cliff Man Charged With Murder in Fight Over Prostitution Payment

An east Oak Cliff man was charged with murder after an Irving man was fatally shot on Christmas EveTaylor Jamal Burks, 27, remained in the Dallas County jail Monday with bond set at $500,000.Burks had agreed to meet a man and a woman at their Irving apartment in the Woodside Villas on west Rochelle Road near Belt Line Road so he could pay for sex and weed, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.The woman took his money, but was uncomfortable with his aggressive behavior and told him to leave around 11:30 p.m., she told police.The Irving pair fought with Burks over the money and got him out of the apartment.The pimp's father saw the fight and followed Burks around the side of the building, where he confronted Burks, who shot him in the trunk and fled, police said.Patrick Moore Sr., 36, died shortly after midnight.Irving investigators matched the TextNow account that the shooter had been using to Burks, and arrested him last week.   Continue reading...
