Arlington Says ‘Fröhliche Weihnachten!' With German-flavored Christkindl

ARLINGTON — When Sheri Capehart returned home from visiting a Christmas market in Germany, she spent months trying to convince people it was a good idea to bring something similar to her city. It took even longer — maybe five years or so — to make it a reality. But in 2011, the Texas Christkindl Market came to life in the shadow of Globe Life Park. "We just wanted to test the waters with a three-day market," said Capehart, an Arlington City Council member and the city's mayor pro tem. "The vendors sold out in two days."
