A 2016 Presidential Candidate Will Run for Dallas Mayor

A former presidential candidate who lives in Dallas is making a run to be the city’s next mayor.And no, it’s not George W. Bush or Ross Perot. In fact, she never even appeared on the ballot in Texas.Alyson Kennedy, who was on ballots in seven states as the Socialist Workers Party candidate in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, said she wants to replace term-limited Mayor Mike Rawlings.Kennedy and other members of her party collected signatures across Dallas this weekend in hopes to she can get on the ballot.“When we get out and share our message, it resonates with a lot of people in our society right now,” Kennedy said. “And I think that’s because the system we have in place — at all levels of government — serves the needs of a tiny minority.”  Continue reading...
