13-year-old Swimmer Dead After Being Found Unresponsive in Southlake Aquatics Center Pool

Updated at 10:05 p.m. Tuesday: Revised to include cause of death.A 13-year-old swimmer died Monday hours after she was pulled from the pool at the Carroll ISD Aquatics Center in Southlake. Members of the North Texas Nadadores swim club were finishing their warm-up about 6:45 a.m. when one noticed a teammate in trouble, district spokeswoman Julie Thannum said. Elise Cerami was pulled from the water, and coaches immediately began CPR and called 911, she said. It's not clear how long the teen was underwater. Thannum said Elise was unresponsive when she was transported to Baylor Medical Center Grapevine. She was eventually taken to Cook Children's Medical Center where she was pronounced dead shortly after 1 p.m., according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner.
