Fresh Faces Shine at Korshak Photo Shoot

What's more luxe than a photo shoot at Stanley Korshak? Nothing comes to mind -- and the atmosphere at their recent Anthony Chiang-helmed shoot was only made more glam thanks to members of Dallas' newly named Fresh Faces of Fashion, major hair by Blanc salon, and big bling for jewel-focused looks.

Clothing and shoes from fashion heavies like J. Mendel, Lanvin, and Christian Louboutin served as the foundation of the girls' looks, while jewelry by labels like Stephen Webster and Amanda Sterett took center stage during the shoot for the March 2011 issue of Dallas Modern Luxury.

Sterett, one of this year's Fresh Faces, was on set doing double-duty as both designer and model. Of the rock-n-roll worthy earrings she wore with her Red Valentino cocktail dress, she said, "I made these yesterday! I wanted a statement-piece, but something deconstructed, asymmetrical, and drapey. So, I worked these 14-karat gold filigree chains over a pair of 'Olivia' hoops for something that I wanted to wear. It was totally self-serving." Though that's only half true, since the featured earrings will be auctioned off to benefit the Fresh Face's philanthropic partner, the Suicide and Crisis Prevention Center of North Texas.

Next to pose for Chiang were Amanda Sisk and Piper Young. Sisk was adorable in a fringed skirt by Haute Hippie and jewels by Coomi.

"Her hair was inspired by Scarlett Johansen's soft waves, and I love it on her," Tuan Witmer, of Blanc salon, said of her pretty, side-swept look. As Sisk shot, Young waited patiently in pin-curls for her turn in front of the lens. Her dress by Ports 1961 was one of our favorites of the day, and in her own words post-shoot, Young added with a laugh, "We got sort of sultry in there! Very dramatic." We can't wait to see those pictures, as her vamped-up eye makeup by Rick Flores and Gina Doyle was perfect for a provocative look.

Last to shoot before the afternoon session began was Lisa Petty, Shop editor for The Feast (and former NBC DFW Around Town writer) and all-around fashionista. Though she arrived in a chic, men's wear-inspired blazer by Gap, Petty wasted no time getting just as comfortable in her stunning gown by J. Mendel. The accompanying jewels, by Michael Tracy, glittered well under the lights as she focused on playing them to the camera. Of what she'll be wearing to the Fresh Faces' events in March and May, Petty said, "I truly have no idea yet! I'm a last minute person, and since I shop everyday for my job anyway, I haven't felt the pressure to plan just yet."

As we were leaving, another 2011 Fresh Face, Shirin Askari, breezed by us on her way into hair and makeup. Sure to wear something amazing of her own design, we'll be eager to see her picture come March. Support the Suicide and Crisis Prevention Center by attending one of the Fresh Faces' philanthropic events on March 25th or May 25th. Check Dallas' Modern Luxury for details.

Lastly, some juicy gossip overheard during the shoot, a mega-after party may be in the works for the March 25th event in celebration of the Stanley Korshak's 25th anniversary. Inspired by the date of the Fresh Faces' party that'll already be in progress, Korshak seems to be gearing up for a bash of their own directly following.
