Martha Minjarez works as an investigative reporter for Telemundo 39 Responde, an investigative journalism unit of Noticias Telemundo 39, which airs Monday through Friday at 4 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5 p.m., and 10 p.m. on Telemundo 39 KXTX, the local station serving the Spanish-speaking community in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
As part of the Telemundo 39 Responde team, Minjarez investigates community complaints, alerts about fraud, and helps viewers solve their problems.
Minjarez joined Telemundo 39 in March 2014.
Before joining Telemundo 39, Minjarez was a reporter for Univision 19 KUVS from 2007 to 2014 in Sacramento, California. Minjarez also worked as a reporter, anchor and producer for the weekend newscasts for Univision 26 KINT in El Paso, and as an editor for KFOX Channel 14 and Newschannel 9 KTSM.
Minjarez has been awarded the prestigious Emmy Award 13 times for her reporting on immigration, education, and breaking news coverage. Minjarez also received a national GLAAD Award for in-depth reporting on the transgender community.
Minjarez earned her bachelor's degree in communications from Texas A&M University in El Paso. She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and has received certification from the Poynter Journalism Institute.
