Cafe Momentum Hosts Discussion With Youth About the Importance of Juneteenth
As Juneteenth becomes a national federal holiday, leaders and interns at Cafe Momentum gathered to make a red velvet cake and discuss the history and importance of Juneteenth. The restaurant offers opportunities to young men and women when they get out of juvenile facilities. They learn all the jobs over the course of the year – and ideally graduate and are placed in a job with a community partner. Photojournalist Kevin Stewart sat in on the discussion and shares a few moments in today’s Conversation, Call for Change.
