A strong cold front will arrive in north Texas Friday afternoon, bringing gusty north winds and colder temperatures.
The day will actually start out quite mild, with temperatures reaching a high of 73 at about lunchtime on Friday. But during the afternoon, the cold front will arrive.
The wind will shift to the northwest, gusting 15 to 25 mph during the late afternoon and evening hours. The temperature will still be in the 60s until sundown, which occurs at 5:28 p.m.

But after dark, the temperature will quickly drop into the 50s, and may fall into the upper 40s before some area high school football games are over. Make sure you take a warm jacket if you go to one of the games, as the gusty north winds will make it feel even colder.
By Saturday morning, the temperature will drop to 42 at DFW Airport, and into the upper 30s in many of our suburban and rural communities. Saturday afternoon will be sunny, but breezy and cool, with a high of 63.
And it will turn colder still Saturday night. By Sunday morning, the temperature at DFW will fall to 36 degrees. And much of North Texas will see a frost, with some northern and western counties actually dropping below freezing.
After a warm start to the month, it's finally beginning to feel like November.
