NBC 5 FORECAST: Rain chance going down today, but returns in coming days

Much needed rainfall possible for North Texas

Lingering rain chances to the northeast of DFW are expected Wednesday morning. Most of this rain will bypass DFW. A mostly cloudy sky will become partly sunny later today with a high around 82.

Additional rain chances are showing up Thursday and Friday. Severe weather is not anticipated, but some locally heavy downpours are possible. Rain totals could exceed an inch, especially farther south and east.

The weekend forecast continues to look dry and warm with highs back into the 80s.
