NBC 5 FORECAST: Rain chances going up tonight into Friday

Rain chances will be on the increase tonight. While there may be an occasional rumble of thunder, severe weather is not expected.

Widespread showers and a some thunderstorms are likely Friday and certainly could slow things down for the morning drive. The rain could be heavy at times Friday. Rain totals will range from 0.50-1.50" in DFW (much less farther west and more southeast). The rain should come to an end by late in the day Friday.

Saturday will be dry and very warm with highs in the mid 80s. Another chance of a storm comes Sunday with the highest chance across East Texas. Some severe storms are possible so stay weather aware for late in the weekend.
