Flash Floods, Cooler Temperatures

The threat of severe weather dropped after a cold front moved into North Texas early Friday.

A flash flood watch remained in effect for much of North Texas as rain continued to fall across the DFW metro area Friday morning.

High water slowed traffic through Irving along Highway 183 and Loop 12. Emergency crews shutdown Highway 114 at Loop 12  around 5 a.m. in both directions because of high water.

Accidents were reported in several locations across the area because of the slick roads

Temperatures dropped from the mid-80's into the mid-50's as the front moved across North Texas.
