Thousands Lose Power After Storms

North Texas has fewer than 300 remaining outages

Nearly all of the thousands of homes and businesses that lost power after strong storms rolled through parts of North Texas on Sunday evening had service again by late Monday night.

Dallas-based Oncor Electric Delivery said more than 12,000 outages were reported in the Dallas area following the thunderstorms.

By about 11:30 p.m., only 253 customers in Dallas/Fort Worth area did not have power.

Oncor reported that the Dallas Metro service area had 49 outages, and the Fort Worth area had 204 outages.

In addition to strong winds, the storm dropped golf ball-sized hail while downing power lines and tree branches.
