A thin band of snow and sleet moved into North Texas Thursday but fell apart by the time it reached Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.[[468853693,R]]
A blue and pink line of snow and sleet formed near Jacksboro mid-Thursday afternoon and began moving east, fueled by wind gusts to 40 mph. As the line moved into the areas western counties, NBC 5 received reports of light snow and sleet -- though what was falling didn't last long.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY put into effect from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. was canceled early, at about 4:30 p.m. A WIND ADVISORY, however, remains in place until midnight.
Thursday's cold front sent temperatures tumbling from the 50s to the 30s and they're expected to continue falling overnight. Wind chills may dip into the teens before dawn.
Friday morning into the weekend looks quite cold. Early next week, we will be watching whether or not that cold air hangs around as moisture streams back into the area. That could mean the possibility of wintry precip early next week.
