Storms Blow Through North Texas, Worst Appears to Be Over for DFW

Skies will clear by Thursday morning and cooler temperatures will move in

Widespread rain and thunderstorms rolled through North Texas as a potent storm system moved through North Texas the day after Christmas. Showers and storms moved out of the Dallas-Fort Worth area overnight.

A squall line blew through North Texas between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., with heavy rain and a few wind gusts over 50 mph. Between noon and midnight, 1 to 3 inches of rain fell, with some isolated locations seeing even higher amounts.
