Storms Leave Thousands Without Power

Storms that rolled through North Texas left thousands without power early Monday morning.

Vivid lightning, heavy rain and gusty winds moved through the Metroplex before dawn.

Oncor Electric Delivery reported less than 3,600 customers were without power Monday afternoon. The majority of the outages were in Dallas County.

At the height of the storm, more than 26,000 North Texans were without power accoring to Oncor's website. More than 9,000 outages were reported in Rockwall County.

A 7-Eleven and Sonic on Dalton Road in Rockwall were without electricity and couldn't serve customers early Monday morning, but power was back on around 8:30 a.m.

Oncor's Storm Center online reports outages in the following counties as of 4 p.m.

The storms also caused ground stops Monday morning at both Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport as well as Dallas Love Field.
