An upper-level storm system that moved through central parts of Texas Sunday evening generated showers and storms as it moved east.
As the upper-level low moves away, we will see the showers and storms migrate into East Texas. By mid-morning on Monday, the sun will come out and we'll begin to warm up. By Monday afternoon, temperatures will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
Elsewhere, high winds and hail wreaked havoc across parts of Southeast Texas and the South on Sunday.
Almost 180,000 people, mostly around Houston, were without power Sunday afternoon. Hail was also reported in parts of East Texas and southern Arkansas on Sunday while high winds were reported in South Texas and in the Mississippi Delta region, with a gust of 74 mph measured at Harlingen, Texas.
