Rain Cancels MAIN ST Arts Festival, Other Events Saturday

Strong to severe storms forecast for Saturday morning have a led to the cancellation of a few events planned for Saturday, including the MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival.

NBC 5 has learned the following events have been either canceled or postponed.
Allen
Middle school tennis tournament sponsored by the Allen ISD.

Benbrook
e-Waste Collection and Document Shredding event, canceled and will be rescheduled.

Dallas
Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice vigil canceled.

Ennis
Due to the severe weather forecast, organizers of the Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival have made the decision to cancel the festival on Saturday, April 13. The Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival will be open on Sunday, April 14 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Wine Wander tickets for Saturday will be accepted on Sunday. The Ennis Visitor Center will be open Saturday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at 204 W Knox St if you would like more information on the Ennis Bluebonnet Trails.

Fort Worth
Organizers of the 34th annual MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival have made the decision to suspend operations and close the festival on Saturday due to severe weather forecasted on and off throughout the day with very high winds and hail likely. MAIN ST. will reopen on Sunday, April 14. "Out of consideration for the safety of our guests, artists, volunteers, vendors, and performers, we will be closing today," said Jay Downie, event producer for MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival. "This is not a decision we take lightly; however, our number one priority is the safety of all who are involved. We hope everyone stays home and stays safe today, and will come out tomorrow for a beautiful Sunday."

The Japanese Garden Spring Festival at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens, canceled. Sunday is still on as scheduled.

Gainesville
Medal of Honor Parade canceled.

North Richland Hills
Easter in the Park at Green Valley Park, canceled

Plano
Easter Egg Hunt at Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve, canceled
The Great American Clean-Up and after party, canceled
Tree planting at Bob Woodruff Park, rescheduled for May 4

Southlake

Easter in the Park at North Park, all events canceled except the egg hunt. A determination on the egg hunt will be made by 7 a.m. Saturday.
