Power Outages, Damage From Sunday Storms

Thousands without power after strong storms

After a blowout Game 3 loss to St. Louis, Arlington and other North Texas cities had a blowout of a different kind -- winds that gusted above 50 miles per hour.

Over 16,000 were without power as of 10:20 a.m., after the storm system swept through the DFW area early Sunday morning. Oncor's online outage information showed most of those outages in the Dallas metro area.

In Garland, strong winds damaged part of a Chick-Fil-A sign and knocked down a tree in the area. Police also said a crash on I-635 and Northwest Highway was caused by debris in the road.

Dime-sized hail was reported in many areas, including Garland and Richardson. Viewer images showed some yards and patios covered in the ice pellets.

In Alliance, the second day of the Fort Worth Alliance Air Show was canceled due to flooded parking areas.
