NBC 5 Forecast: Ingredients gradually coming together for storms later this week

Rounds of storms possible Friday through Sunday

NBC Universal, Inc.

Warm and muggy conditions are in store for Thursday with mostly cloudy skies. A few sprinkles are possible with the clouds, but measurable rainfall is unlikely. High temperatures will generally be near 80.

An active weather pattern is unfolding towards the weekend. By Friday, a disturbance in the jet stream pattern will lead to thunderstorms. A few of these storms could be severe with hail and strong winds. The highest chance of rain appears to be in the morning.

Another opportunity for storms will arrive Saturday afternoon and evening. Some of these storms could be severe as well. One final round of thunderstorms may impact Sunday morning.

Outside of the stormy periods, there will also be several hours of dry weather this weekend. However, with the threat of severe storms, make sure you stay weather aware.
