Gov. Perry Monitoring Tornado Recovery

Texas leaders have offered concern and support to communities raked by tornadoes that have left at least six people dead.

Gov. Rick Perry on Thursday said he's deeply saddened by the deaths. Perry said the State Operations Center continues to monitor the situation.

Emergency officials in Granbury say at least six people were killed in Wednesday night's twister. Forecasters say tornadoes that were part of the same storm system hit nearby Cleburne and Millsap.

A preliminary estimate Thursday from the National Weather Service indicates 10 tornadoes went through North Texas. The Granbury twister, an EF-4, was the worst -- packing winds of up to 200 mph.

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn and other notables also offered condolences over the destruction and loss of life. Cornyn said all of Texas stands with the communities.
