2,600 Without Power After Overnight Storms

Storms packing rain and strong winds have left thousands of North Texas homes and businesses without electricity.

Oncor on Wednesday reported crews were working to restore power to more than 7,300 customers.  By 4 p.m., 500 customers in Dallas were without power and another 2,000 in Fort Worth were without power.

The utility said most of the outages were in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. More than 1,200 outages in the southern part of the state were resolved Wednesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service said showers were likely for the area through Wednesday, with sunny conditions returning Thursday.
