4 N. Texas Counties Included in Hermine Disaster Aid Request

Gov. Rick Perry has requested a presidential disaster declaration for 13 Texas counties that had extensive flood damage from Tropical Storm Hermine.

Perry said Tuesday he made the request in a letter to President Barack Obama, seeking federal assistance with recovery efforts.

Perry is requesting assistance for Bell, Blanco, Cameron, Coryell, Denton, Hill, Jim Wells, Johnson, Medina, Tarrant, Travis, Willacy and Williamson counties.

Perry also renewed his Sept. 9 state disaster proclamation for those 13 counties.

After Tropical Storm Hermine made landfall earlier this month, the remnants of the storm moved north, bringing flooding, high winds and tornadoes.
