Jackson's final tour was set to begin on July 13 and would include 50 shows at London's famed O2 arena

In the days leading up to this death, Jackson worked with his band, crew, choreographers and dancers to perfect what was expected to be his highly anticipated comeback after a 12-year hiatus from the stage.

Jackson's longtime manager Frank Dileo was with the King of Pop in Los Angeles for rehearsals and said Jackson had been in good spirits.

"I was with Michael everyday going to rehearsals – Wednesday and Thursday he was the happiest," Dileo told the "Today" show's Meredith Vieira on Friday. "On Wednesday, he put his arm around me at the end [of the day] and he said, 'Frank, I've never been happier. We're going to make this work… It's our time again Frank. We're going to do this!'"

Besides being happy, Dileo also said Jackson seemed to be in top physical shape.
