Work Underway for New Arlington Interchange

A new wave of construction hit Arlington Monday night as crews began work on a new, multi-million dollar highway interchange.

The City of Arlington announced closures as part of a $233 million project bridging Interstate 30 with State Highway 360. The new junction will effectively eliminate the existing cloverleaf turnpike configuration.

The following changes will be in effect through the summer:

  • Westbound and eastbound Lamar Blvd. and Avenue H will be reduced to one lane approaching the SH-360 overpass.
  • All Lamar Blvd. traffic crossing under SH-360 will be diverted to the south side of the SH-360 overpass.
  • Avenue F between Avenue E and 111th Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
  • Avenue G eastbound between Ave. H, Ave. G and Ave. H will be closed. Traffic will be detour3ed to 111th St. for business access.

Changes through summer of 2017:

  • Eastbound and westbound Avenue F traffic will be reduced to one lane each direction. Traffic flow will be diverted to allow crews to rebuild the road.

Permanent Changes:

  • Westbound Copeland Road from Six Flags Drive to just east of Ballpark Way.
  • Six Flags Drive will be reduced to one way for general construction.
