Two Hit, Killed in Separate Crashes Along North Texas Freeways

A man and a woman were hit and killed by vehicles in two separate crashes along North Texas freeways early Wednesday morning.

Fort Worth police said a woman in her 30s was died after being hit by two cars along the 7100 block of northbound I-35W.

The woman was first hit by a Chrysler van at about 4:45 a.m. as she walked along the service road. The driver of the van stopped and remained at the scene, near the Miller Coors brewery, and tried to warn other drivers as they exited the highway.

While waiting for first responders, the driver of another vehicle hit the woman in the road and drove away without stopping to help.

The woman died at the scene, though officials said it's not yet known if she died after the first or second impact.

Meanwhile, Arlington police are trying to figure out why a man was walking on the freeway moments before he was struck and killed by a car.

The collision happened just after midnight in the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 near Ballpark Way.

Officers said the driver who hit the man pulled over to help and called 911, but that the pedestrian died before police arrived.

The identities of the man and woman killed will be revealed by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office once their next of kin have been notified.
