Loop 12 Re-Opened in Irving After Tractor-Trailer Crash

The crash shut down the highway for more than five hours Sunday

The southbound side of Loop 12 in Irving has re-opened after it was closed for more than five hours Sunday due to crash involving a tractor-trailer, police say.

The crash happened late Sunday afternoon on Loop 12 at Northwest Highway, Irving police said.

One of the tractor-trailer's tires caught on fire while it was on the move, and the driver pulled over, police said.

A Texas Department of Transportation camera showed traffic flowing again on Loop 12 around 10:40 p.m. Sunday.

Police did not say what caused the fire.
