A semi crash on Interstate 45 in Hutchins closed the interstate for a few hours Tuesday morning.
According to police, around 2:30 a.m., a truck hauling two trailers was heading southbound on I-45 near Dowdy Ferry Road when the rear trailer flipped and landed on its side.
The crash caused paint inside the trailer to leak. The yellow paint required HAZMAT for cleanup while the road was closed.
At one point, crews were turning cars around on the interstate.
According to police, the driver of the truck said he drove up to a car that was being pushed by another car and swerved to miss it. The trailer rolled over as a result.
TxDOT also responded to the scene to inspect the roadway.
