Weather permitting, the following road closures will occur. Backups are expected and motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
Interstate 35 northbound will be reduced to one lane from Western Center Boulevard to U.S. 81/287 due to construction from Friday Feb. 13 at 9 p.m. until Saturday Feb. 14 at 5 p.m.
The NTTA will be performing a traffic switch at the intersections of Forest Park Boulevard/ Parkview Drive/and the westbound I-30 frontage road. The following roadways will be affected.
Interstate 30 westbound frontage road will be moved onto its permanent pavement approaching Forest Park Boulevard.
A new traffic signal will be turned on at the intersection of Forest Park Boulevard and the new westbound frontage road, located just south of the previous intersection. The old intersection will be closed.
A new entrance ramp to westbound I-30 from the new Forest Park Boulevard. The old entrance ramp for westbound I-30 in the area will be closed.
A new access road from the new Forest Park Boulevard Intersection to Parkview Drive. Parkview Drive will be converted to two-way traffic, rather than only westbound traffic.
There will be lane closures on eastbound I-30 between Belt Line Road and MacArthur Boulevard between 2 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Feb. 14. to install temporary pavement markings. The closures will affect one lane at a time.
Various lanes, two at a time, will be closed on Interstate 45 northbound from Ross Avenue to I-30 to conduct bridge maintenance. During this time the I-30 westbound collector ramp to I-45 southbound will be closed for painting.
These closures will occur between 9 p.m. Feb. 12 and 5 a.m. Feb. 13.
The two left lanes on I-30 eastbound between Loop 12 and Westmoreland Road will be closed in order to move a concrete traffic barrier and place pavement markings. When the barrier is moved, traffic will switch to a new configuration. During this time the entrance ramp to I-30 eastbound from Cockrell Hill Road will also be closed. The closures will be from 7 p.m. Feb. 13 through 10 a.m. Feb. 14.
