Last Stretch of DFW Connector Opens Tuesday

The drive to work is about to get a lot easier for many North Texas drivers.

The last stretch of the massive, $1.1 billion DFW Connector project through Grapevine will open in time for the Tuesday morning commute.

Crews will work through Monday night to remove all the orange barrels along state Highway 114, allowing drivers to take the Texas Department of Transportation's new express toll lanes. The lanes run four miles from just west of state Highway 26 to east of International Parkway.

Drivers won’t be charged for using the lanes until late spring while TxDot continues to test the tolling equipment.

Once charges begin, they’ll range from $.67 to $1 for drivers using a NTTA TollTag, TxTAG or EZ Pass.
