Traffic on westbound Interstate 635 is forced to exit at Webb Chapel Road in Dallas after a fatal crash Thursday morning.

A 22-year-old man is dead after crashing into a digital sign on Interstate 635 in Dallas Thursday morning, police say.

Dallas police said the man — later identified as Corey Jones — was driving west on I-635 when he crashed into the sign near Webb Chapel Road at about 4:15 a.m.

The vehicle then hit a median and rolled, ejecting him onto the road.

Jones was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital where authorities said he was pronounced deceased.

The crash shut down the westbound lanes of I-635 for more than an hour and all traffic was forced off the road at the Webb Chapel exit.

No further details have been released.
