An accident Thursday morning brought the commute on Interstate 35W southbound into downtown Fort Worth to a standstill.
Police said multiple vehicles were involved in the accident on I-35W under the bridge for N.E. 28th Street just before 9:30 a.m.
The highway was closed for a little more than an hour while crews cleaned up the scene and accident investigators tried to find out what led to the crash.
Traffic was diverted onto the access road at N.E. 28th Street.
The interstate reopened at 10:35 a.m., but it took awhile for the backup to unwind.
Still no word on what caused the accident.
