Eastbound Interstate 30 Reopens in Arlington After Morning Crash

Arlington police have reopened all eastbound lanes of Interstate 30 after a major crash closed the highway for much of the day on Friday.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing but preliminary indications are that a passenger vehicle traveling eastbound was struck by an another vehicle at about 10:45 a.m. near Collins Street.

The driver who was hit lost control and struck a tractor-trailer which then struck a third vehicle. The third vehicle overturned and hit a city vehicle parked on the shoulder.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was pinned and had to be removed from the vehicle. The truck driver and another motorist suffered minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

"Heavy duty wrecker equipment is on scene and trying to upright and off-load the vehicle which is causing the delay in re-opening lanes," Arlington police said in a statement.

Police reopened one eastbound lane at about 4 p.m., and by 6 p.m. all eastbound lanes were back open.
