Dallas's Mockingbird Pedestrian Bridge Officially Set to Open Thursday

A ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday afternoon will mark the opening of the Mockingbird Pedestrian Bridge to the public.

The bridge has been a project in the works for about a decade.

It will start from the back of the Highland Dallas Hotel, go over Mockingbird Lane and end at the Mockingbird DART Station.

β€œIt can function both as a recreational amenity, but also a transportation amenity. Imagine being able to jump on this and go to work in downtown Dallas. You will be able to do that once this is built," Angela Hunt, a former Dallas city council member, told NBC DFW in July.

The City of Dallas Park and Recreation, Mobility and Street Services, Council member Philip Kingston and members of the University Crossing PID will take part in the ribbon cutting.
