Northbound traffic on a heavily traveled Dallas North Tollway was at a standstill for a short time Wednesday afternoon when the road was blocked by a toppled crane boom.
Plano police said the truck-bed mounted crane was parked in the construction area when it overturned while handling a heavy load at around 3 p.m. Wednesday.
No injuries were reported when the boom landed across the northbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway near the JC Penney corporate headquarters in western Plano.
The crane was eventually up-righted and the tollway lanes were re-opened to traffic at 3:45 p.m. according to Plano police.
