Is It Too Early For Christmas Decorations?

I stopped by the neighborhood Walgreens a few days ago to pick up a Red Bull when I stopped to look at the Halloween decorations. Passing by, one of those stupid motion activated devices started laughing at me, and, yes, I'll admit, I was slightly frightened.

The clerk saw this before I came over to check out and mentioned, "Yeah, I get scared by them, too. I'll be glad when we can take them down."

After handing me a receipt, she continued saying, "The day after Halloween, we'll pull all this to one side, mark it down and then put up the Christmas stuff."

I commented, "Seems like everyone's putting up the decorations earlier and earlier."

She pointed above the shelves of Halloween treats, where they'd put the pre-lit mini trees, boxes of inflatable snow globes, and more plastic light-up angels than I'd ever seen. "Those come down and get set up the day after Halloween."

I traveled by that same Walgreens this morning, at 6:30 AM, and, yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus in the window.

So the question is: Is it too early for Christmas decorations? Vote in the poll above and feel free to leave your comments below.
