Gap + Goodwill = Dynamic Donate Movement

Need a good reason to check out the Summer arrivals at the Gap? The store is partnering with Goodwill currently to promote donations while giving shoppers a 30 percent discount for their efforts.

We can’t think of a better time to stop by collect a few pieces of their casually cool clothing.

To participate in the aptly named Donate Movement between the Gap and Goodwill, simply drop off used clothing you wish to contribute at any Gap location to receive 30 percent off of your entire purchase.

Gap is including all merchandise, including sale items, in the intitiative, and the collaboration applies to GapKids, babyGap, and GapBody stores as well. The charitable project only runs through this Sunday, May 29; so, get your shop on soon. Gap will facilitate the transfer of donated apparel to Dallas-area Goodwill stores.

“It’s been a struggle but Goodwill has helped a lot. If it weren’t for Goodwill donations I wouldn’t be here today,” said Dominique Lewis, a Goodwill client who spoke out about the Donate Movement.

Experts like green lifestyle author Lorie Marrero are also offering their support for the idea since recycling expensive goods like apparel benefits the environment, local communities, and those that take advantage of Goodwill programming.

Download the Donate Movement icon on your Facebook and Twitter and visit one of the 20-plus Gap locations in the metroplex to take part; check Gap.com for a store nearest you.
