Flea Market Fabulous in Canton

First Monday weekend in Canton yields some fashionable finds

First Monday - Canton, Texas' famous flea market - isn't for the casual shopper. To find fashionable bargains, you need to be willing to get your hands dirty. Literally. Our best finds came from a plastic bin of undisplayed merchandise that we dug out from under a table in one of the smaller booths.

Thanks to our efforts, we found a Ralph Lauren satchel in their signature black-watch plaid for $10 - similar styles are currently on sale at Polo.com for around $500. (See that and other finds in our gallery)

A red, heavily beaded jacket in a cropped style was also exceptional at $35, as was a grey leather clutch with snakeskin details for $10. A marled wool overcoat trimmed in hunter-green grosgrain and brass buttons rounded out our favorites.

And don't miss the jewelry; oversized turquoise pieces are readily available in many booths for great prices. You can probably score some vintage cowboy boots while your at it.

Want to go? Check the First Monday website for the details on how to get there, where to park, and what to bring with you. Next trade dates are October 28th through October 31.
