Deno's Does Designer

Deno's in Highland Park Village -- Dallas' best shoe repair shop -- has a secret. They are making custom bags and belts in this season's most sought after skins for a fraction of the market price.

All you have to do is decide which color and style you prefer, and in one to four weeks you'll have runway ready alligator and lizard accessories. There are twenty-five swatches to choose from, and prices for smaller clutches start at $199.99 in lizard and $399.99 for alligator. It's still an investment, but considering similar styles from Nancy Gonzales and Carlos Falchi retail from $925 to $1700, Deno's is offering an amazing deal. Not to mention their designs are made of a higher quality of leather than department store counterparts.

Custom belts are hot items as well (since the trend is everywhere this season) and Deno's most requested are the D-ring short strap -- meant to work with your favorite silk scarves to create an interesting, luxe look -- and their lizard, double-sided straps that can attach to multiple buckles. Prices for the belts start at $59.99.

Just needing a repair for the boots or shoes you can't get through Fall without? General cleaning starts at $6.95 and more elaborate repairs run as much as $30.

A helpful hint: Deno's will put an ultra-thin piece of rubber on your delicate soles to protect the integrity of the shoe and give you traction when Fall turns to Winter weather. They'll even baby your Christian Louboutins with special, dyed-to-match red rubber for a seamless appearance.

Go see them immediately at 62 Highland Park Village, open Monday through Friday 8:30 to 6 and Saturdays 9 to 4.
