In tough economic times, frugal shoppers are looking for deals and smart business owners are giving them.  Here are a few deals we've found for this week.

THURSDAY DEALS

On Thursday, all Dallas-Fort Worth Jamba Juice locations are giving away free smoothies between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

GMG Pest Control has a special deal that will give you free quarterly pest control service for a year.  Call (972) 220-9047 for more information.

Wanna see a movie? All Studio Movie Grill locations in North Texas will sell you a ticket for just $5 Monday - Thursday throughout the entire month of September.

SEPTEMBER DEALS

Massage Envy is holding a one-day event benefitting breast cancer awareness and treatment.  On Sept. 15, you can get a one-hour massage for just $35 -- with $10 of that money going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

On Tuesdays, shoppers over the age of 55 will be given 15 percent off their purchase at all Metroplex Catherine's Plus clothing stores.

Saturdays and Sundays at 11:45 a.m. and 4:15 p.m., the Legends of Texas Gunfight Shows take place at Stockyards Station in Fort Worth. The shows are free and attendees can learn about about the history of this part of North Texas between 1835 and the early 1900s.

The first Sunday of the month is free admission day at the Dallas Heritage Village at Old City Park.  Pack a lunch and bring the whole family for historic fun. Participate in themed activities for everyone to enjoy. The theme for September is “Back to School.” What was it like to go to school over 100 years ago? Visit the Renner School House and have a seat for an 1888 lesson. Play with toys and games after the School Marm dismisses you!

Starbucks lovers here is a deal for you.  Register for a Starbucks card online and you will receive a postcard good for a free beverage on your birthday.  You don't have to get a Starbucks credit card, you can use a gift card.

Every Saturday has something different and interesting at the Uptown Village at Cedar Hill.  Jazz, movies and car shows will feature attractions on different Saturdays in September. A schedule is available here.

After 5 p.m., kids under 12 eat free at Black-Eyed Pea restaurants throughout Texas. One item from the kids menu is free with each adult entree purchased.

Speaking of movies, when was the last time you saw Sixteen Candles or Ferris Bueller's Day Off?  Well, that's too long.  Head over to the Belmont Hotel  on the west side of downtown Dallas and watch the movies poolside, under the stars on Wednesday night's.  Dive-in movies begin at dusk and are free of charge.  The Belmont will show a different movie each week ... go here for more information.

On Wednesday, get 20 percent off your tab at Boston's Gourmet Pizza on North Freeway during happy hour.  Please bring in a business card or company identification badge.

Parents can get a free child's entree (10 and under) with the purchase of an adult entree at Cafe Brazil Sunday through Thursday between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.  Also, every Tuesday the restaurant has a special offer on their Facebook page. 

At Planet Burrito kids eat free with the purchase of a regular priced entree Monday through Wednesday until Sept. 30.  Planet Burrito is located at Park Boulevard in Plano and on Kimball Avenue in Southlake.

Maggiano's Little Italy wants you to have leftovers "Today & Tomorrow."  First, choose an entree from a special selection of items -- then Maggiano's will give you a second selection to take with you after your meal to enjoy as your dinner the next day. Dos Chiles Tex-Mex in Wise County is offering two enchilada dinners and two drinks for just $10 on Tuesdays.  There are Dos Chiles restaurants in Boyd, Bridgeport and Bowie. 

Domino's Pizza is offering a FREE Chocolate Lave Crunch Cake with every Breadbowl Pasta ordered at menu price until Sept. 13 with coupon code 9146.

If you're worried about a lightning strike, Bonded Lightning Protection Systems is offering 10 percent off a lightning protection system for homes that have been struck by lightning.  Call 1-800-950-7933 for more information.

Through Sept. 30, Skin Care Logic is offering half-price facials and a free Dermalogica gift to anyone employed by Dallas-area schools. The 1 hour facial (normally priced $50.00) includes steam, double cleanse, skin consultation, professional exfoliation, massage, mask and moisturizer. Ferré Ristorante & Bar in Sundance Square has a great deal every Monday.  How does $0 sound for a two-course dinner?  The restaurant's "Dine On Us" promotion offers a free meal and only asks that guests pay for their drinks and tip their server according to what their meal would have cost -- had it not been free.  Sounds more than fair to me.  Reservations are recommended and more information is available on the restaurant's Facebook page.

Gelato lovers! Receive a free bambino-sized serving of gelato at Paciugo Lakewood from noon to 7 p.m. on Mondays with the purchase of a medio or gande.  More info on their Facebook page.

Kids eat free at Oliver’s Fine Foods in Mansfield on Monday's from 4 to 8 p.m.  The free kids meal is offered with an adult meal purchase.
