Dallas Searches for Solution to Museum Tower Glare

The Nasher Sculpture Center says sunlight bouncing off Museum Tower is spoiling its art and landscape

A Dallas high-rise and an art museum met with the mayor Wednesday to discuss how to deal with glare from the tower.

The Nasher Sculpture Center says that sunlight bouncing off of Museum Tower's glass threatens its art and has moved some art inside. The Nasher was built to bring in natural light but the glare from Museum Tower is too much, the center says.

"We are going to solve it," Mayor Mike Rawlings said. "[We] don't have any other option but to solve it."

In the past, both sides told NBC 5 they wanted to solve the issue.

Attorney Tom Luce is acting as a facilitator between both sides. He told NBC 5 over the phone that Wednesday's meeting was constructive and that ideas were discussed.

But he would not give a timeline.

"As soon as possible is important," Rawlings said.
