Two North Texas Chefs Battle For Reality Competitions

North Texans have been doing quite well on reality TV for the last couple years -- we've had an American Gladiator, a Top Chef finalist, a Bachelor contestant, and a So You Think You Can Dance? winner all come from here, to name just a few -- and this summer, you'll be rooting for two more.

Melissa d'Arabian, who current lives in Keller, will be competing in Food Network's "Next Food Network Star" series -- which previously picked Dallas' Lisa Garza as runner-up. d'Arabian is a mother of four, including 18 month old twins (cue the sob story about missing her kids in the middle of the season) and highlights "affordable cooking" in her bio. Sounds like a down-home favorite to us....

But if you're not into the whole "amature chef becomes star" formula, maybe Top Chef's latest incarnation will be your new Love. Top Chef: Masters will feature Fort Worth's own Tim Love, chef and owner of the Lonesome Dove restaurant, when it starts on June 10. Bravo's biting off a bigger chunk this time, pitting well-known chefs like Love against other names like Rick Bayliss, Anita Lo, and Rick Moonen. We believe in Love, but this competition will be tough.
