The Stand in Uptown Dallas is giving away free hot dogs for the first 100 people in line starting at 11 a.m.
We visited The Stand a few months ago and loved their sawed-up Airstream trailer and upscale concession stand fare. Take a look at the place here.
Apparently, this is in celebration of National Hot Dog Day, which sounds like another entry into our list of "made up holidays."
Still, this day might be celebrated by a lot of Dallas-Fort Worth area residents, as our area is the sixth largest hot dog consuming city in the U.S, according to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council.
We'll assume that the chairperson of the board on the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council takes the title of "Big Wiener," but you know what they say about making assumptions -- you end up crafting bad jokes about hot dogs.
