Yum! A local food bank is training aspiring chefs.

The Tarrant Area Food Bank isn't just handing out more food in these tough economic times.

It's training unemployed people who need food to be able to buy their own -- by becoming chefs.  And the new kitchen not only teaches unemployed men and women how to cook, many of the meals they make are given to charities to distribute to the needy.

The students use excess perishable food donated by local groceries and restaurants.

Students who have graduated from the 14-week program are currently employed at Colonial Country Club, Harris Methodist Hospital and Texas Christian University.
