KRLD Restaurant Week presented by Central Market, which showcases North Texas’ thriving culinary scene, offers tasty three-course prix fixe dinner combinations priced at only $35/person (tax, tip and drinks billed separately).  What’s more, consumer patronage helps support local fine dining establishments and two great charities.  For every prix fixe meal purchased, participating restaurants will make a $7.00 donation to either the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas or Lena Pope Home in Fort Worth.  Reservations are required.

“This is one of our most popular fundraisers, and is an ideal time for consumers to acquaint themselves with the area’s hottest menus, while potentially discovering their favorite new establishments,” said Jan Pruitt, president and CEO, North Texas Food Bank.  “Each meal consumed during this timeframe enables our organization to put food on the table of area children, families and seniors who are going hungry today.”  This year’s fundraising goal is $550,000 dollars, which is nearly $50,000 more than what diners across Dallas and Fort Worth helped generate in 2009.

“This appetizing fundraiser enables friends, relatives and business partners alike to enjoy a night out,  while shining a spotlight on culinary standouts located throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex,” said Todd A. Landry, executive director, Lena Pope Home.  “Who would turn down the opportunity to dine out and support the best restaurants at a discounted cost, while helping local children and families in need?”

Helpful Tips
To book a spot, consumers can directly call the establishment of their choice and request a “KRLD Restaurant Week” reservation or make one online at KRLD.com (just follow the link to OpenTable). Please be advised that popular places close out fast, smaller groups are easier to seat, and flexibility is appreciated.  Opting to dine out on a week night vs. weekend may help ensure a prime table and time slot as off-peak evenings (i.e. Monday to Wednesday) are often less in demand. Plus, many restaurants will extend their participation by one or even two full weeks up until September 5 -- opening up additional seatings.  Take advantage of this great opportunity by trying out a new place each night, and discover the breadth of genres represented here in North Texas’ fine dining scene.

“Preview” Weekend
Back again for a third straight year, receive a first taste from 48 select establishments’ special KRLD Restaurant Week menus priced at $42/person during “Preview” Weekend August 13-15.  Diners will also enjoy the addition of a fun, house cocktail made with Ultimat Vodka or Patrón XO Cafe Liqueur.  A portion of each meal still benefits the North Texas Food Bank or Lena Pope Home.

Add Ons
Additionally, as an added bonus, each participating restaurant is encouraged to suggest appropriate wine flight and pairing selections to compliment their prix fix menu selections (be advised that alcohol is billed as an extra charge).  Glazer’s and the American Institute of Wine and Food (AIWF) will determine the best menu and wine combination.  The winning chef / sommelier will receive a week’s stay at the Culinary Institute of America's Greystone, Calif., campus.

The FREE Fourth Course Promotion returns!
Central Market, the presenting sponsor of KRLD Restaurant Week, is again offering its hugely popular Fourth Course promotion until August 29 or while supplies last.  Consumers making an in-store purchase of $25 or more will receive a certificate redeemable for a free fourth course (valid at participating establishments) upon presenting their receipt at the Info Desk.  On July 12 only, consumers will receive two Central Market Fourth Course certificates with a qualifying purchase. A Schepp’s Dairy coupon offering $1.50 off a purchase of two half-gallons or one full gallon of milk is also available to customers, while supplies last.  And don’t miss your favorite KRLD Restaurant Week chefs performing their craft at special summer cooking demos inside the stores.  Visit www.centralmarket.com for a schedule and additional details.
