Marquee Grill Gets a Starring Role in Highland Park Village

Highland Park Village hot spot is primed for a long popular run

The Marquee Grill in Highland Park Village is one of those special places that transcends the worlds of foodies looking for Top Chef cuisine and the socialites looking for the hot place to hang out and enjoy a cocktail.

Since its opening in late April, the red hot spot from Twomey Concepts has developed quite the reputation as a place to see and be seen atop the Village Theatre's marquee which serves as the bar's balcony and provides a picturesque view of Highland Park. And while the second floor dining area is set up for a casual experience, the downstairs dining room with its elegant decor is more formal.

The menu features new American cuisine courtesy of Executive Chef Tre Wilcox from season three of Bravo's Top Chef. In the past, Wilcox has freelanced as a private chef for the likes of Russell Simmons and former Dallas Mavericks swing man Jerry Stackhouse. He is now sharing his talents with the people of DFW with a new fall menu including Wood Grilled Cervena Venison, a New York Strip with Black Truffle Butter and Marinated Jumbo Texas Shrimp.

For those arriving early for the reservation -- or wanting a destination to stay late -- the Marquee Grill's Executive Beverage Director Jason Kosmas has developed an extensive list of handcrafted cocktails that has garnered local acclaim including Best Bartender by D Magazine in 2010.

Kosmas has written a book on cocktails and is widely considered a master mixologist. The cocktail menu and top notch service only add to the ambiance of place that is primed to be a player on the sophisticated Dallas scene for a long time.
