Ice Bar Cools Drinks at Fieldhouse Sports Bar & Grill

Watch games at Quik Trip Park from bar patio

Sports and food have always gone together -- and you can enjoy both at the Fieldhouse Sports Bar and Grill in Grand Prairie.

“It sort of sits out here at the park where we sit between Verizon and Lone Star Race Track and so that’s great,” said owner Allan Weiss.

Football, soccer, hockey -- the Fieldhouse lets you watch any game you want on any of the 30 flat-screen TVs hanging around.

But when it comes to baseball, you have the opportunity to watch the real thing. The Grand Prairie Airhogs play at Quik Trip Park right next door. The restaurant's huge garage doors open to reveal a sprawling patio where you can watch the game and get some grub.

“What’s good is that the people can come in here, have a beverage, have food, air conditioned climate controlled and we have all these glass doors and they actually open up so you are a part of what’s going on outside too,” said Weiss.

And no need to worry about warm beer -- the bar has a refrigerated ice track to keep your drinks cold.

“It’s fascinating, it really is, and it really does a good job of keeping your beverage cold for you. It works off of like a refrigerator. It has it’s own compressor and pumps it’s own Freon through there that freezes. So, it doesn’t have anything to do with ice, it is just a freezer,” said Weiss.

The Fieldhouse Sports Bar and Grill is open for lunch Tuesday through Sunday and is open for dinner Thursday through Monday.
