Worth The Drive: Head To Hays County For Pizza & Beer

Brewster’s Pizza is the epitome of a family-run business

Brewster’s Pizza, in Wimberley, is 40 miles southwest of Austin and 60 miles northeast of San Antonio, but it's definitely Worth the Drive.

Owned by a former NFL player, his wife and their 13 kids, all pies at Brewster's are organic and they even offer a gluten-free crust. Specialties include typical toppings but it’s the freshness and quality of ingredients that sets Brewster’s apart from larger pizza delivery places.

Got a sweet tooth, the S’mores pizza and Cinnamon Bun pie are a couple of options for dessert.

Thirsty? All-natural beers are brewed on-site and the tasty unpasteurized and unfiltered suds compliment any savory slice of pie.

Here’s a breakdown of Brewster’s most popular brews

Hefeweizen - Wheat beer with organic coriander seed, orange and lemon zest.

Peggy's Cream Ale - An American Lager recipe brewed with Ale yeast and Ale temperatures for a wager that was won by this smooth, light libation.

Blonde - A good transitional beer with light hops, subtle malt snap and a clean finish.

Drop the Rabbit - "Less hops then the Amber" with a green apple start, wildflowers and citrus finish.

Amber - Red Bitter with less hops and great body with earthy tones.

IPA - Dry hopped India Pale Ale with a crispy hop punch, which is considered a palate cleanser.

Red Bitter – Brewster’s flagship beer with malt fruit front and a hoppy nose finish.

American Porter - A dark chocolate caramel front with French roast coffee finish.

Enjoy!
