We're not sure if Mikey has made it in for a bowl of "Life" just yet.

Cereal Lovers in The Colony are celebrating the opening of what may be the only stand-alone cereal bar in the Metroplex.

"The Cereal Bar" serves 36 different varieties, and they're adding more all the time.  From healthy "Raisin Bran", to the "Cookie Crisp" you haven't had since you were a kid, you'll find it here, along with tons of extra toppings.

Owner Walter Corea said the concept has been tried before.   In fact, a national chain operates a cereal bar for travelers at DFW Airport.  But, Corea believes this is the first cereal bar in the Metroplex, that you can get to without a boarding pass.  The restaurant is located on Main Street in the Colony, just north of state Highway 121.

"You know, it's a good healthy all day snack," Corea said. "It's filling and you have the milk -- and on top of that you get to choose fresh fruit."

But, it's not the healthiest cereal that tops the list of popular choices.  The No. 1 request from customers: "Cocoa Puffs,"  sometimes mixed with "Coco Pebbles" or "Cookie Crisp,"  and it seems adults love that order just as much as the youngsters.

"I see more adults in here all day than I do kids," said frequent customer Sharon Osborne.
